Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 3, 2026
Last Updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Roar Insight LLC (“Roar Insight,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you visit our website at roarinsight.com (the “Site”), use our mobile application needitBY™ (the “App”), or otherwise interact with us. We refer to the Site, the App, and related services together as the “Services.”
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Scope
This policy applies to (a) all visitors to roarinsight.com, including those who submit our contact form or join our waitlist; and (b) all users of needitBY™, our service marketplace app for iOS and Android.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide on the Site
- Waitlist signups: email address you submit through the homepage form, plus the source/signup form ID for our records
- Contact form submissions: name, email, message, and any selected category (e.g. “Data project,” “needitBY feedback,” “Partnership”)
- Voluntary correspondence: any information you send us by email or other channels
2.2 Information you provide in the App
Account information: email address (required for sign-in), password (hashed, never stored in plaintext), username (publicly visible), and full name.
Address information: street address, city, state, ZIP code, and country. Your ZIP code is required for location-based matching, and your general area (ZIP, city, state) is visible to other users. Your street address is never displayed to other users anywhere in the App — it is used to validate service locations and to derive your general area. It is exchanged with another user only as described in Section 4.
Profile information (optional): profile photo, about/bio, job title and company, education background.
Service Provider information (if you register as a provider): business name and description, business phone number (optional), service categories and skills, years of experience, pricing, license and insurance status, available days, provider type (individual or business). We do not verify licenses, insurance, or provider type. These are self-reported by you and shown to other users as claims you have stated, not as facts we have confirmed. See Section 2.4 for the identity verification we do perform, which is separate.
Service Request information: request title and description, category, budget range and type, needitBY™ deadline, the ZIP code of the service area (with city and state derived from it), experience and licensing requirements, and any attached images. Service requests do not carry a street address.
Offer information (when you submit an offer on a request): offer amount, proposed start date, confidence level, and your message to the Requester.
Communications: in-app messages between users, conversation history and timestamps, message read status.
Saved preferences: saved listings, blocked-users list, notification preferences, location-sharing preferences.
2.3 Information we collect automatically
Device data: device type/model, operating system version, app version, and IP address, as part of ordinary service operation. We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs — we do not collect screens viewed, taps, session duration, search queries, listings viewed, or crash logs.
Location (App only, with permission): on iOS, precise GPS coordinates; on Android, approximate location only. Location is collected only when you grant permission and the app is actively in use, and is never collected in the background. You can browse listings without granting location, with limited functionality.
Cookies and similar technologies (Site only): first-party cookies to maintain sessions and remember preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
2.4 Identity verification (optional)
If you choose to complete identity verification, that process is carried out by Didit, a third-party identity-verification provider. You submit your identity documents and a selfie directly to Didit, who performs the check and returns a result to us. We receive and store only the outcome (approved, pending, or declined) and the date — we do not receive or store your identity documents or biometric data. Didit processes that information under its own privacy policy.
Identity verification confirms who you are. It does not verify professional licenses, insurance, qualifications, or the quality of any service.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Services: account creation and authentication, matching Requesters with Providers, displaying maps, processing offers, facilitating messaging, sending transactional notifications
- Improve the Services: analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features, optimize matching
- Communicate with you: transactional emails (account confirmations, offer alerts, deadline reminders), marketing emails to subscribers (you can unsubscribe anytime), customer support
- Safety and security: detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; automatically screen uploaded images for prohibited content; enforce our Terms of Service; investigate violations
- Legal compliance: comply with applicable laws, respond to legal requests, enforce our rights
4. Location, Addresses, and the needitBY™ Deadline System
Location is central to how needitBY™ works: showing nearby opportunities on a map and matching Providers to a service area. Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared with other users.
Service requests carry a ZIP code only — not a street address — and the map groups requests by ZIP code rather than plotting individual locations. Other users see only your general area (ZIP, city, state).
A street address is exchanged only between a Requester and a Provider who have agreed to proceed with a job, and only when the party sharing it chooses to do so. We do not publish street addresses anywhere in the App, and we do not disclose them to any user automatically.
Every needitBY™ request includes a hard deadline by which the service must be completed. Deadlines are public on listings; time-remaining counters and urgency tiers (Emergency through No Hurry) help Providers self-filter. Expired requests are automatically removed from active listings.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:
5.1 With other users (App)
Publicly visible: username, profile photo, general location (ZIP, city, state), identity-verification status, stated license and insurance status, completed-jobs count, and ratings.
Visible when you post a request: title, description, category, budget range and type, deadline, the ZIP code of the service area, and requirements.
Shared with the Requester when you submit an offer: your provider profile, offer amount, message, and proposed timeline.
Private: in-app messages are visible only to conversation participants. Email addresses, business phone numbers, GPS coordinates, blocked-users lists, saved listings, and personal contact information are never shared by us. Your street address is not published anywhere in the App and is exchanged only as described in Section 4.
5.2 With service providers
We rely on third-party services to operate. These providers are contractually limited to using your data only to provide services to us:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database (Firestore), cloud storage, cloud functions.
- Didit — identity verification. Identity documents and biometric data are submitted to Didit directly and are not stored by us; we receive only the verification outcome
- Google Cloud Vision — automated screening of uploaded images for prohibited content
- Mailjet — email delivery for transactional and marketing emails (Site waitlist + App notifications)
- Map and location services — Apple Maps on iOS, Google Maps on Android — geocoding, map rendering, distance calculations
- Hosting provider — website hosting and server logs
5.3 For legal reasons or business transfers
If required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property. If Roar Insight LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred — we will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
6. Cookies (Site)
roarinsight.com uses first-party cookies to remember session state and preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies via your browser; the Site will continue to function with limited personalization.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: retained while your account is active
- Inactive accounts: may be deleted after 24 months of inactivity
- Waitlist signups: retained until you unsubscribe
- Contact form submissions: retained for 24 months unless an ongoing matter requires longer
- Deleted accounts: your personal information is overwritten immediately when deletion is carried out, and the remaining account record is permanently deleted 90 days later.
- Transaction records: completed, expired and cancelled service requests, and offers that were accepted or completed, are retained after account deletion because they form the other party’s history. They no longer identify the deleted user
- Message threads: retained, because the other participant’s conversation history depends on them. Messages from a deleted account are no longer attributed to a named user
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting you, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
9. Your Privacy Rights
9.1 General rights (all users)
- Access and update your profile information in the App or by contacting us

You may withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing: contract performance (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (improvement, security), consent (location, marketing, identity verification), and legal obligations.

9.4 Other US state laws

Contact privacy@roarinsight.com to exercise these rights.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not intended for users under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@roarinsight.com and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services rely on or integrate with third-party services (Firebase, Didit, Google Cloud Vision, Mailjet, Apple App Store and Google Play). Each has its own privacy practices. We have data processing agreements where applicable. The Services may also link to external sites; we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
12. International Data Transfers
We operate from the United States. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where applicable, we use Standard Contractual Clauses and rely on certifications such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework to safeguard cross-border transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-App notification, email to your registered address, and a prominent notice on this page, generally with 30 days’ advance notice when feasible.
