Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 3, 2026
Last Updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Roar Insight LLC (“Roar Insight,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you visit our website at roarinsight.com (the “Site”), use our mobile application needitBY™ (the “App”), or otherwise interact with us. We refer to the Site, the App, and related services together as the “Services.”

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Scope

This policy applies to (a) all visitors to roarinsight.com, including those who submit our contact form or join our waitlist; and (b) all users of needitBY™, our iOS service marketplace app. Where practices differ between the Site and the App, we say so explicitly.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide on the Site

  • Waitlist signups: email address you submit through the homepage form, plus the source/signup form ID for our records
  • Contact form submissions: name, email, message, and any selected category (e.g. “Data project,” “needitBY feedback,” “Partnership”)
  • Voluntary correspondence: any information you send us by email or other channels

2.2 Information you provide in the App

Account information: email address (required for sign-in), password (hashed, never stored in plaintext), username (publicly visible), full name, and ZIP code (required for location-based matching).

Profile information (optional): profile photo, about/bio, job title and company, education background.

Service Provider information (if you register as a provider): business name and description, service categories and skills, years of experience, pricing, license and insurance status, available days, provider type (individual or business).

Service Request information: request title and description, category, budget range and type, needitBY™ deadline, location for service, experience and licensing requirements, and any attached images.

Application information (when applying to a request): bid or quote amount, proposed start date, confidence level, application message.

Communications: in-app messages between users, conversation history and timestamps, message read status.

Saved preferences: saved listings, blocked-users list, notification preferences, location-sharing preferences.

2.3 Information we collect automatically

Device and usage data: device type/model, operating system version, app version, mobile network info, time zone, language, IP address, crash logs, screens viewed, taps, session duration, search queries, listings viewed.

Location (App only, with permission): precise GPS coordinates only when you grant permission and the app is actively in use. Location is never collected in the background. You can browse listings without granting location, with limited functionality.

Cookies and similar technologies (Site only): first-party cookies to maintain sessions and remember preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Services: account creation and authentication, matching service requesters with providers, displaying maps, processing applications, facilitating messaging, sending transactional notifications
  • Improve the Services: analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features, optimize matching
  • Communicate with you: transactional emails (account confirmations, application alerts, deadline reminders), marketing emails to subscribers (you can unsubscribe anytime), customer support
  • Safety and security: detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse; enforce our Terms of Service; investigate violations
  • Legal compliance: comply with applicable laws, respond to legal requests, enforce our rights

4. Location Data and the needitBY™ Deadline System

Location is central to how needitBY™ works: showing nearby opportunities on a map, matching providers to a service area, and validating addresses. Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared with other users. Other users see only your approximate area (ZIP-code level); exact service addresses are revealed only after both parties accept a job.

Every needitBY™ request includes a hard deadline by which the service must be completed. Deadlines are public on listings; time-remaining counters and urgency tiers (Emergency through No Hurry) help providers self-filter. Expired requests are automatically removed from active listings.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:

5.1 With other users (App)

Publicly visible: username, profile photo, general location (ZIP/city/state), provider verification status, completed-jobs count, user ratings.

Visible when you post a request: title, description, category, budget range and type, deadline, general service location, requirements.

Shared with the requester when you apply: your provider profile, bid amount, application message, proposed timeline.

Private: in-app messages are visible only to conversation participants; email addresses, exact GPS coordinates, blocked-users lists, saved listings, and personal contact info are never shared.

5.2 With service providers

We rely on third-party services to operate. These providers are contractually limited to using your data only to provide services to us:

  • Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database (Firestore), cloud storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting
  • Mailjet — email delivery for transactional and marketing emails (Site waitlist + App notifications)
  • Apple Maps / map services — geocoding, map rendering, distance calculations
  • Hosting provider — website hosting and server logs

5.3 For legal reasons or business transfers

If required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property. If Roar Insight LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred — we will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

6. Cookies (Site)

roarinsight.com uses first-party cookies to remember session state and preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies via your browser; the Site will continue to function with limited personalization.

7. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: retained while your account is active
  • Inactive accounts: may be deleted after 24 months of inactivity
  • Waitlist signups: retained until you unsubscribe
  • Contact form submissions: retained for 24 months unless an ongoing matter requires longer
  • Deleted accounts: deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where legal retention is required
  • Backups: backup copies may persist for up to 90 days after deletion

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting you, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

9. Your Privacy Rights

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 11. Third-Party Services and Links

Material changes will be communicated via in-App notification, email to your registered address, and a prominent notice on this page, generally with 30 days’ advance notice when feasible.
